I'm surprised no one asked why he needed to blow up Dhar-Dalai, instead of just blowing up Tyranos' machine.

I just assumed. After all, Tyranos' machine is surely in a secure location. And look at what it took to take down just one of Tyranos' hench-robots - with 2 casualties, no less.

Even if they take out his machine, Tyranos would presumably still live. And he still holds sway over the Mag Leung as their god. As long as he lives, he is a threat to all life.

Destroying the city solves several problems at once. It not only destroys his machine, but (presumably) Tyranos himself as well as the home of those pesky Mag Leung.

On the other hand, destroying their god and their home isn't going to make the Mag Leung happy. They may want war more than ever. Though, if their population is sufficiently decimated, that may be a moot point.

Could the Mag Leung live peaceably with the Minkie and Dalai? My impression is that they've always been at odds. They're dogs and cats, after all. And they're forced to share a single continent and very limited land and resources.

I just don't see destroying that machine or even Tyranos as fixing all their issues.

But wouldn't it be nice if the Dalai could have their city back and get out of the jungle? There were a lot of details in the original story about how miserable their lives were since they left their city. The Veiled Forest floods during the Angurad so most of the larger game animals live on the plateau. But the Dalai can't stay hidden on the plateau so they restrict their hunting to the Mushroom Sanctuary and south of the Stone Swords.

Poor Essential, being a carbon based life form looked so easy from the outside.

Carri did say that she had the thoughts of a child. She's more like a 200 year old teenager.

I got the impression from Carri's read that in many ways she was even less mature (if that's the right word) than a teen. She's always shown the innocence and the caring nature of a pre-schooler, but at the same time she has the knowledge and pragmatism acquired during her existence in TYRANOS.

Sharing a body and consciousness with her wouldn't be dull, that's for certain.

She would probably be a ton of fun, especially when she goes on her mongrel killing sprees.

The biggest drawback would be dealing with her ex, TYRANOS.

"The thought did cross my mind."

Let us hope that she was only joking.

I would use the 4th frame as my background if it wouldn't get me fired.

That would be awesome Dizz, thank you.

My primary monitor is 1680x1050, I can adjust as necessary.

Now that I think of it, that would make for a pretty awesome wallpaper.
